Support and Resources
Intro
NAAF was established in 1981 with one clear goal; to offer support to individuals affected by alopecia areata. Though the mission has expanded over the past two decades, the importance of providing a substantial support program to people of all ages and interests has not diminished.
The NAAF support program offers different ways to create a sense of community amongst individuals with alopecia areata and their families. If you are more comfortable communicating with distance, the Message Boards provide a great opportunity to meet others. Or, if you would prefer to discuss your experiences with alopecia areata in more of a group setting, the Support Group Program may be the best fit. (And if there is not a group in your area, we can always help you to start one!) And, if you like to get a dose of support in a lighter setting, be sure to see if NAAF’s Charlie’s Angels Program will be visiting your town!
Your privacy is our number one concern. NAAF understands that your experiences with alopecia areata are your own; NAAF does not release any of your information to anyone; that is our promise to you.
And please, use caution when discussing your alopecia areata on web-based sites. Your privacy may not be as secure, and you don’t know who could be on the other end of your note. Post responsibly, and encourage your children to do the same.
